My Official Cupboard! Oh, and my underwear....

It's official!  I have my own cupboard in the kitchen. Which, actually, is misleading, because this cupboard has always been mine.  You know the one that is packed with all the crap--cookies, chocolate---everything high carb & full of partially hydronated soybean oil?!?!?  Well, that's the old cupboard. Today it got a makeover.

Just 8 days left until my RNY surgery & I got my supplements, vitamins, etc. from Bariatric Choice by mail this week.  I took time tonight to clean out all the crud--cookies, chocolate (yes, Cadbury eggs!), etc., that I had nestled away & replace it with all my vitamins, supplements & the stuff that I will be eating after next week.  It made me smile.  I showed my husband & he said he was proud of me.  It was a little strange, though, to think that is what I will be living on for two+ weeks after surgery--at least until I can drink my chicken & tuna.  .  So worth it!!

I also realized today that I owe a big apology---to my underwear.  I went through my drawer today and realized that I have really been asking a lot of them for quite some time now.  Microfiber is only intended to stretch so much and I am really requiring far more than should be required of a fabric.  Often, the microfiber resembles crochet more than a tightly interwoven material.  Sometimes, I open my underwear drawer & I swear I see them all coiling back, hoping they aren't picked for the day's challenge.  I know that in underwear language--the language like dolphins use to speak to each other, but this is for underwear--when I shut the drawer it's like the final scene in Braveheart when Mel Gibson is being stretched but yells "F-R-E-E-D-O-M".  I don't think that anything should be put to such a test and for that, underwear, I am sorry.  Soon you will be retired and allowed to retain your original shape--or what is left of it in light of our trials and tribulations---and you will be replaced with very sexy, smaller, hot co-workers that will not be required to do the things that you have done.  Please do not sue me for age discrimination.  I owe you something--I should remember to thank you before next week for doing a great job, always hanging in there & never giving up on me. Good job granny-panties. Your my heros.  .  Just hang in there one more week & it will all be over!

Ya' know...there was a time when I never would have posted something like this--funny or not--but just knowing that it is all just going to get better from here makes it okay!!!  Victoria's Secret here I come!!!!  xo, Micheala.

Great way to get prepared and putting yourself in a positive attitude, but the truth is I would be surprised if you miss the old cub bard. For me sense WLS I don't feel I'm missing out on anything.
Don't feel bad about age discrimination fell like your sending them to that great rag pile in the sky! Wait until your standing in front of the dryer and you can't tell your underwear from the kids!

Thank you for your posts!!!  I was so grumpy and grouchy being the first morning of daylight savings time, and so I sat down at the computer to see what was going on in here.. and to avoid getting ready for work... (just being honest) and you have made my day!!!

I have my own cupboard too, and like Bob said, I don't miss what was in there, and some of those things are still just the next cupboard down in Connor's cupboard.     Healthier versions for him now, but still snacks and such.

THEN I got to the underwear...  I don't think I will ever look at my underwear the same again!!!  I have actually already tossed my granny pannies, and after reading your posts I am feeling guilty for not giving them a proper send off, poor things, like yours, I expected too much from mine, and I don't remember ever thanking them for not popping under pressure.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!  You have made my day have a much brighter start!

How many more days now?

Ah! So glad when I can keep anyone from getting ready for work..!  Oh, and how I could go on & on about Daylight Savings Time! AHHH...torture.

I can't wait to be in the ATMGPC (Already Tossed My Granny-Panties Club)....maybe we could move the Looser's Bench to the Club house!

....I'm glad, at the expense of my underwear...lol, I could make you smile!

....the countdown is 1 week from tomorrow!!!  I am starting to "nest", like I did when I was induced with all three kiddos & had to check into the hospital--cleaning like crazy, organizing & getting ready for the big day---feel like I'm being born this time...;).

xo, Micheala.

Micheala,

LMAO......I sat down at my sewing machine a few weeks ago & took in all my old drawers cause I just don't want to buy new ones yet( till I get to goal).

So this morning I thought I'll try to take up one of my old bra's........well I took up about 3.5" in the back(it's a front hook) and about 2" on each side.  Well let me tell ya, the girls are standing up like they are at attention, but i think I took something up in the wrong place cause they ain't in front any more.  When I tried it on & found they were looking east & west, I laughed so hard I couldn't get it off.  Oh well nothing lost, I couldn't wear it as it was before anyway.

I'll be thinking of ya on your big day.

Susan O'
